Our Toddler Program is the first possible entry point to Maria's Montessori School and is a wonderful introduction to Montessori for both the children and their parents. Toddlers learn to separate from their parents in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment.
Maria's Montessori's carefully structured, toddler sized environment is set up to facilitate the young child's self mastery. Age appropriate materials and activities are designed for the toddler's self development, growing independence and natural curiosity. They are skillfully and closely guided in the learning process.
Our dedicated and knowledgeable teachers are well educated in child development and create learning opportunities where the child may engage all of her/his senses to investigate the environment. The activities are designed to improve children's abilities to concentrate, enhance coordination and self-care skills. During this sensitive learning period, teachers facilitate and support the child's emerging use of language and sense of social responsibility.
By the end of the Maria's Montessori's Toddler Program, the self- care work has helped children recognize body signals and they make the transition from diapers to using the toilet.
After experiencing many successes, they are ready to move on to our Pre-K Program.
